$50.00

Northern Lights #2 – 10 Regular Seeds for $50

(IBL – Inbred Line | Just $5.00 per seed)

Flowering Time: 7–10 weeks
Genetics: Broadleaf Afghan Line (Purest Indica x Afghan)
Type: Broadleaf-Dominant / Classic Afghan IBL

These seeds are a direct reproduction from 1983-era stock, provided to me by Seattle Greg, the same individual who supplied Northern Lights genetics to The Holland Seed Bank in 1985. This line—Northern Lights #2—is one of the core Afghan expressions that helped define the indoor cannabis movement of the 1980s.

The Lineage: NL #2 and the Original Numbering System

The Northern Lights lineage, originally numbered from #1 to #11, ranged from the most compact Afghan expressions (#1, also known as Purest Indica) to more tropical-influenced hybrids in the higher numbers. NL #2 represents the broadleaf Afghan expression: short flowering, dense structure, and resin-rich growth.

What sets this version apart is its direct continuity with the original NL#2, preserved through inbreeding and never hybridized with modern commercial stock.

Plant Traits and Performance

Northern Lights #2 shows dense, compact growth, with leafy, resin-coated buds, and low-stretch internodes. Even the male plants in this line exhibit unusually high trichome development, making them particularly valuable for breeding. With a flowering time of 7–10 weeks, this variety fits well in both indoor and outdoor settings where structure and finish time matter.

Historical Context and Breeding Potential

After working with Chem and OG Kush cuttings for years, I’ve grown increasingly confident that NL #2 genetics played a foundational role in shaping those legendary lines. This is not a re-creation, but a direct preservation—an original Afghan-bred line that helped influence generations of breeding.

Great for:

  • Preservationists and breeders seeking foundational Afghan stock

  • Growers interested in fast-flowering, broadleaf-dominant plants

  • Projects focused on historical continuity and classic structure

These are regular seeds, offering a natural mix of male and female plants.
These are not feminized or autoflowering seeds.
