Northern Lights #2 x Purest Indica Bx1 – 10 Regular Seeds for $50

Flowering Time: 8–9 weeks
Genetics: (“Purest Indica” x [Afghan x Afghan]) x Purest Indica (Steve Murphy Afghan)
Type: Broadleaf-Dominant Hybrid

This backcross was created to strengthen and preserve the distinct traits of the Purest Indica line found in Northern Lights #2. By pairing a selected Northern Lights #2 female with my Steve Murphy Afghan (Purest Indica) male, this generation brings enhanced consistency, structure, and finish time to growers and breeders working with compact broadleaf varieties.

Northern Lights #2: Genetic Heritage

Northern Lights #2 is a foundational hybrid historically defined as Purest Indica x (Afghan x Afghan). Known for its short stature, early finish, and dense floral clusters, it set the standard for indoor breeding projects starting in the early 1980s. This particular selection offers vigorous vegetative growth and uniform structure, making it ideal for controlled environments.

Purest Indica: The Steve Murphy Afghan

Purest Indica, originally known as the Steve Murphy Afghan, is a true broadleaf Afghan cultivar. Gifted to Seattle Greg in 1979, it played a critical role in early Northern Lights development. Selected for its tight internode spacing, compact frame, and resin-rich output, this male consistently transmits those qualities in breeding, with excellent reliability across progeny.

The Line: Northern Lights #2 x Purest Indica Bx1

The goal of this backcross was to recenter the genetic expression toward Purest Indica, without losing the Afghan vigor and consistency of the Northern Lights #2 female. Expect a uniform canopy, minimal stretch during flowering, and thick, aromatic growth. These plants are suited for both experienced and newer growers looking for broadleaf expression with manageable cultivation traits.

Great for:

  • Breeding projects focused on broadleaf Afghan heritage

  • Cultivators looking for compact plants with short cycles

  • Preservationists working with foundational genetics

These are regular seeds, offering a natural mix of male and female plants.
