We’ve had other guests on in the past who have unveiled never-before-heard history of the herb, but nothing comes close to the secrets revealed in this episode.

Blackleaf finally hunted down the elusive Todd McCormick, an American activist, childhood cancer survivor, author, and medical herb patient for a once-in-a-lifetime conversation. Todd has a laundry list of achievements and sightings in pop culture dating back to the late 80s. More recently, he’s been an ongoing judge at the yearly Emerald Cup in NorCal and was one of the winners of the Cannabis Culture Award in 2012.

You may have also seen him speak on screen during the 2007 documentary, The Union: The Business Behind Getting High. There are no stones left unturned in this episode, as Todd recalls his famous 1997 arrest where he was caught with over 4,116 plants at a Bel-Air mansion and never snitching on any of his constituents, subsequently serving a 5-year sentence as a result, and getting bailed out by DJ Pooh and Boondocks creator, Aaron McGruder. You’ll also hear about the famous Playboy Mansion parties that he used to attend as well as host in the name of herbal activism.

The Culture High is a powerful 2014 documentary that dives into the deep-rooted issues surrounding marijuana prohibition. Directed by Brett Harvey, it builds on the debate over cannabis legalization by exploring the social, economic, and political factors that have shaped current drug policies. The film features a compelling range of voices—including Joe Rogan, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Gabor Maté, and former law enforcement officers—who discuss the impact of the "war on drugs" on society, from black market violence to the criminalization of users and patients.

Through personal stories and expert insights, The Culture High challenges viewers to rethink outdated perceptions about cannabis, urging a shift towards evidence-based policies that focus on health and personal freedom over punishment. It's an eye-opening documentary for anyone interested in understanding the complex landscape of marijuana prohibition and the potential benefits of reform.

When the cannabis taxonomy was first being written in 1753, Carl Linnaeus was essentially aware of only one type of cannabis: the European hemp variety of Cannabis that he added the suffix “sativa”, which at the time simply meant to grow or to sow. This type of cannabis was used industrially for ropes, cloth, paper, paints and varnishes, but surprisingly, not for the drug content.

I receive a lot of email from new growers who are asking me really fundamental questions about how to handle their seeds and how to set up their grow so I figured I would take a few minutes and share with you the steps that I take when I sort through a pack of seeds.

I have been alerted to the fact that people have been using my identity on Facebook and Instagram to try and take orders for seeds that are ONLY available on this website.

I do not take any seed orders through email or ANY social media messaging.

You can only get these seeds through this website, I do not and will not process orders any other way.

Thiols, also known as mercaptans, are found in a wide range of natural products, including fruits, vegetables, and herbs. In cannabis, thiols are produced by the plant in response to their environment and are believed to have a protective role in the plant's defense against pathogens and other stressors.

The scent, flavor and high of some of the Purest Indica plants was incredibly close to the OG Kush cutting and although the plants grew entirely differently, as the Purest Indica is extremely leafy and high-yielding compared to low leaf to high bract (not calyx) ratio and low yield of the OG Kush.

Last week I had both the OG Kush and Purest Indica tested for their cannabinoids and terpenes and one of the Purest Indica plants had an almost identical terpene profile of OG Kush.
